Want to be in my treasury?

I just started a treasury on etsy ( http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=19893 ). The theme is Neapolitan; so if you have any items in your shop that fit that theme, post and I will add them!

Another New Member

Hello everyone,

My name is Jessica and I live in Denver and I'm also new to the group. I was thrilled to find out this group is out there. I'm new to Etsy I signed up in Aug. of this year as Zyarns (short for Zweena Yarns) and I handdye and handpaint wool yarns using natural dye. I'm also designing easy to follow knitting patterns that can be adapted to fit petite - tall sizes.

Looking forward to being a part of an Etsy team.

New to the Group!

Hi everyone!

My name is Michelle and I'm new to the group. I'm on Etsy as mspottery. I live in Littleton and have a home-based pottery studio. I'm trying to go through all the things that were sent to me when I asked to join the group, so please let me know if I'm not doing something right!

I'm excited to be part of a Colorado-based Etsy team. Etsy's been great for me and my business; it's been so wonderful to connect with artists and handmade fans all over the world. And it sure beats hauling my heavy boxes of pottery to tons of craft shows! :)

I am having to take a few days off from the world

The MonSter has become more than I can handle right now, and when it is combined with the biopsy stuff I am just a nervous wreck. Can't worry about the computer being borrowed or no camera right now. Medical bills come first for awhile.

Introduction

I would just like to say hi and introduce myself. Thank you for accepting me to the group. My name is Celia. I just moved to Colorado about a year ago. We bought a house, and I have now set up my own shop for my fabric creations. I love to sew plus-sized clothing. I know from my own experience how difficult it can be to find nice plus-sized clothing that doesn't look like a tent.

Anyway, I'm still working on my personal blog, so check in often.

Calling all scarf makers or people to donate yarn!

Hey guys!

So this fall/winter my goal is to donate scarves to the homeless. I started my own charity, Knit For Neighbors, and since it runs its roots down to me basically donating them into Denver I thought I'd post it here and see if any locals wanted to help.

You can check out the blog I set up for further details on the charity and my mailing address.

Thanks guys! :D Don't feel obligated! just wanted to put it out there <3.

Just a quick hello

This is so wonderful to see how many people are from Colorado who are part of the Etsy world. I just love that site. I have been a member only since Dec. 06'

I have had a wonderful time on there selling and buying. I think I buy more than I sell, but I am sure that is a common issue with a lot of people. I just so much of what I see.

Since I am new to the site I wasn't sure if there was anything in the makings yet. Do you have anything planned for a Mile High Etsy craft show anytime this year? That would be totally awsome.

I work at a very large office building downtown and we have a yearly craft show right after Thanksgiving. If at all possible maybe some of you could join us here. But I will have to check with the ones in charge. I have wonderful sales every year. Well worth the trek down town and the day off from your normal job. I will keep you all posted on the event.

HAPPPY MONDAY- talk to you all later.

by the way......my name is Karen, 29, from Westminster.
nice to meet you all.

I have visited all of the Mile High Etsy shops and am impressed by your beautiful artwork! I look forward to meeting you soon.

Another Introduction!

Hi, my name is Cindy and I just recently opened up Fishy-Fishy: www.fishyfishy.etsy.com

Within a few days of joining Etsy, I stumbled across a 'Mile High Etsy' treasury and was so excited to see that there were some great Colorado Etsy people!

I live in Denver, work as an architect, and have always spent the majority of my free time painting, drawing and 'making stuff'. This is the first time I've ever tried to sell anything that I've made, so I'm eager to see how it goes. So far, Fishy-Fishy is serving as my outlet for making some pretty random items; jewelry, magnets, cards, screen-printing, small fabric bags and some stuffed animals.

I love that Mile High Etsy seems to be a great supportive community of wonderful crafters and artists!

Oops! I Did It Again!

Got another treasury, that is. Totally as a fluke, too, because I was just checking to see if I'd been lucky enough to be selected for a treasury. You know, gotta love that gold star...

So, for your viewing pleasure, here's the second list's screen image. Yeah for visibility for the team!

Our First EtsyDenver Featured Treasury

A bout of insomnia produced results for the team today: We have a treasury featuring our work! As the link never lasts forever, I will simply tell you it is called "Rocky Mountain High" and will be up for about 2 days. I've included an image of what its featuring as of now.

Current team members, if you'd like something specific featured, convo me through Etsy so I can add it for you. Potential new team members, still convo me, and we might be able to sneak you in!

Happy browsing,
Angelina

About Blue Sky Pottery

Hi everyone,

Thanks for inviting me to join your group. My name is Deb Babcock and I live in Steamboat Springs. Since my mother-in-law lives in the Denver area, my husband (Dave) and I come down for a visit about once a month, so hopefully I can time those visits with the EtsyDenver meetings.

My pottery studio doubles as a small gallery where I can also sell my work to locals and visitors to our town. It's located across from the Safeway store here, not too far from the ski mountain.

The pottery I make is mostly wheel-thrown or hand-built out of porcelain clay; mostly functional items such as cups, bowls, teapots, platters, baking dishes, etc. If you get a chance, check out my etsy shop: dbabcock.etsy.com

My educational background is in marketing; I owned a marketing firm in Michigan before I sold it and moved here in 2000. My art background consists of classes at the local college as well as summer workshops at places such as Anderson Ranch in Snowmass and Laloba Clay Ranch here in Steamboat.

If you're ever in this part of the state, I hope you'll give me a call and stop into my studio for a cup of tea during your visit.

Thursday, March 22, 2007

Hello, hello!

My name is Sarah and I've recently started Shhdesigns (the shh comes from my initials) which includes jewelry of the beaded and metal sort. I am an avid climber and kayaker and my inspiration comes from the colors and textures I see on my trips. I'm in the process of finishing up my masters in metallurgical engineering (should be done by July!) and after that, I'm not entirely sure what will happen. I love the Denver area and I'm hunting for jobs. :)

I started making jewelry in 2005 and things started accumulating to the point that my husband told me I needed to start selling it. He was right and now I'm expanding and experimenting with materials and techniques. I've started working with metal sheet and wire and I love it! And I can apply my metallurgical degree, to some extent, since the annealing and pickling processes carry over from the steel that I've been studying. The next step is getting the equipment!

So beyond going to school and making jewelry, I work part time at a climbing gym (Rock'n & Jam'n in Thornton - if you ever want to climb, let me know!) and I traipse around the Flatirons in Boulder helping my husband write a new climbing guidebook. Life is fun! :)

Let me introduce myself

Hi my name is Nicole and I am the designer and owner of She's Crafty, handmade earrings and accessories. A little bit about myself: I am from Denver but grew up in WA state, I am now back in Denver and when I am not making earrings I am usually at school working to get certified as an elementary school teacher. I am one term off from student teaching, so I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I love making fun and funky earrings and accessories and I will rarely make two pairs the same. I like the idea of selling one of a kind pieces, and knowing that the buyer is the only one with that pair out there.

The journey has begun. Join us!

It's an exciting time here at EtsyDenver. The street team is getting off the ground, the daffodils are in bloom on the Front Range, and craft fair/show season is just around the corner.

Several things are now in the works. Etsy is revamping its street team resource pages, and Kismet Designs is busy working on getting our very first mission statement together. I have been working the forums and blogspot to get some more visibility, and I've emailed Matt over at Etsy to see how we can get "official" recognition. Cindy is busily working away on our first set of promotional postcards - our compromise to stuffing 80 gazillion business cards into an unsuspecting buyer's packaging. We can use the same cards to post at libraries, coffee shops, and anywhere else that will permit us to tack our goods on their board. Nicole is accepting promos for her slot at this year's Ballpark Market. And we're all looking into different neighborhood farmer's markets, craft fairs, local events, etc. that we can share a booth at.

If you're a Colorado-based Etsian, we'd love for you to join our team. Contact myself through my Etsy store, or just post a comment here for more information.

Happy Spring Day in Colorado!
Angelina

Another Introduction...

Cynthia M. Guajardo
Hello everyone! My name is Cynthia and I had the good fortune to meet the owners of Kastroll Kreations, Kismet Designs and Carla Sonheim in person this past weekend. What do we have in common you may ask? All of us reside in the state of Colorado, we are all artists and we share a love of selling our work on Etsy - the place for all handmade arts and crafts by people all over the world.

I am the Jill of all arts and crafts, but my main focus is clay. I make wheel thrown and hand built functional pottery, porcelain jewelry and occasionally, I'll throw in artwork in another medium if it suits my fancy. Visit my blog to see what I am up to during the week or better yet, visit my Etsy Shop.

I am thrilled to be a part of Etsy Denver and as a group we hope to use this blog to announce group and individual shows, events, and sales throughout the year. Please take the time to visit our links in the sidebar.

Monday, March 19, 2007

Who am I?

Howdy y'all!

My name is Angelina, and I'm the creatrix behind Kastroll Kreations. My first love (and majority of my work) is fiber art. I've been crocheting for almost 25 years. I create wearables, accessories, jewelry, housewares, and the occasional sculpture or fiber fine art. For the last 7 years, all of my works are original, one-of-a-kind items designs. I use patterns, pictures, and fashion magazines for initial inspiration, then morph that seed of inspiration into my own design. I also dabble in silk painting, using modern resist techniques and heat-set dyes. My silks are inspired by the resurgence of Earth-based and womyn's-based spirituality. As my body of silk work grows, I hope to start offering prints and ATCs of my silks. And, since good things come in threes, I also sew. Sewing is a newer craft for me, and I am thoroughly enjoying the process.

In the "real world", I am a full-time law student and soon-to-be-first-time-mommy. Please feel free to visit my blog and Etsy Store.

Another introduction

Kismet Designs- I am an artist/designer who's first love is metal. I also dabble in paint, knitting, silkscreening, sewing, and any other materials I can get my hands on. Making jewelry for me is about creating something more than something shiny and pretty to adorn the body (although I have nothing against shiny & pretty!) I think it is important to create work that tells a story, makes a point, touches on concepts we can all relate to. The meanings behind my work are not always apparent at first glance ...or even second or third! Since jewelry can be worn by anyone, I prefer for people to assign their own meanings. Just because something may have been made by me doesn't mean have the one and only answer to its meaning. Metal is my passion and I hope others enjoy wearing it as much as I love making it!

Introducing Myself

Hello!

I am Carla Sonheim... Painter of Girls (Mother of Boys...). The girls I paint are not from life but are fictional portraits inspired by the special and fleeting innocence of girlhood...

I have been painting for a little over five years; prior to that, I was a magazine art director, graphic designer, marketing copyrighter, gardening pamphlet editor, legal secretary and lifeguard (in reverse order). In my 40s I have finally found what I was meant to do all along (make art).

If you get a chance, visit my blog and etsy shop!
